The OEM Pentair Thermistor 42001-0053S is responsible for displaying the temperature on your control panel. Typically if the display reading is indicating a temperature that is too high then your thermistor needs to replaced. The Thermistor cannot be reset, it must be replaced. This OEM Pentair Thermistor 42001-0053S is compatible with most Pentair MasterTemp, Sta-Rite Max-E-Therm and ETI 400 Natural Gas Swimming Pool Heaters. An electronic temperature sensing thermistor in the manifold adapter inlet controls the heater operation. When the inlet water temperature drops below the temperature set on the operating control, the burner controller supplies power to the combustion air blower through a series of safety interlocks
