Treatment Dose:
Use the dosage chart below to determine how much SeaKlear PhosKlear 4000 to add based on your pool size and current phosphate level. For example, a 10,000 gallon pool with 1,000 ppb of phosphates should be treated with 8 oz of product.

Dosage Chart

Initial Phosphate Treatment:
Clean or backwash the filter before starting. Use the chart above to measure the correct amount of product. Pour the PhosKlear 4000 evenly across the pool surface. If the water is still cloudy after 24 hours, apply SeaKlear Chitosan Clarifier at 2 oz per 5,000 gallons. Run the filtration system continuously for at least 24 hours. If the filter pressure rises 10 psi above normal, clean or backwash the filter. After 48 hours, test phosphate levels with a swimming pool phosphate test kit and reapply product if needed.

Weekly Dose:
Add 2 oz of SeaKlear PhosKlear 4000 per 10,000 gallons weekly to help maintain low phosphate levels and keep the water clear.

Important:
Temporary cloudiness is normal while phosphates are being removed. The water may stay hazy for up to 24 hours depending on phosphate levels and filtration performance. Swimming should be avoided until the water clears. If desired, use SeaKlear Chitosan Clarifier at 2 oz per 5,000 gallons to speed up water clarity.

Confirming Phosphate Levels, Pool Type & Treatment Needs

PhosKlear 4000 is formulated to remove the elevated phosphate levels that contribute to algae growth. These answers help online customers confirm whether this is the correct treatment for their pool.

How do I know if I need a phosphate remover?

If algae returns frequently, or if phosphate test strips show readings above 300–500 ppb, using PhosKlear 4000 is recommended. Testing before ordering ensures accurate dosing.

Is this product safe for all pool types?

Yes — it works with plaster, vinyl, fiberglass, and pebble surfaces, as well as chlorine, salt, and mineral sanitizing systems.

Does this product replace algaecide?

No — it removes the nutrient source for algae. Using a sanitizer or algaecide alongside phosphate removal provides the best results.

Application Method, Water Appearance & Filter Operation

These questions explain what happens after adding the product.

Will my pool cloud after applying PhosKlear 4000?

Some haze is normal. It indicates phosphates are binding and being carried to the filter. Clarity returns as filtration removes the bound material.

How should I apply the product for best performance?

Pour the product around the pool perimeter while the pump is running. Running the pump continuously speeds up phosphate reduction.

Will the product interfere with automatic chlorinators?

No, it does not affect chlorinators, salt cells, dosing systems, or UV units.
